Hobson Way Cycleway

The project will provide a direct off-road cycle link which will give cyclists a safe and sustainable route across the South Humber Bank between the ports of Immingham and Grimsby to access work and training facilities.

When the project is complete the new cycle links, when combined with existing cycle and walking infrastructure, will provide the longest continuous off-road cycle link in the borough.

The project comprises of three locations:

Hobson Way, Immingham
A180 Westgate roundabout – Lockhill roundabout, Grimsby
A1173 Immingham – Stallingborough

The new Hobson Way cycle link will run on Hobson Way on the section between the new Humber Link Road roundabout and South Marsh Road. This will complement and extend the existing high-quality off-road cycle route that runs alongside the new South Humber Bank link road and Moody Lane. We are also exploring funding opportunities which would allow us to complete the other part of Hobson Way in the future.

The project addresses maintenance issues caused by HGV parking and running along footpaths and will review Traffic Regulation Orders that support waiting and parking restrictions along Hobson Way.

There will be an opportunities to comment on both the A180 Westgate roundabout to Lockhill roundabout and A1173 Immingham to Stallingborough locations via additional surveys which will be advertised.
